In addition to donating quilts to Camp For All, as we’ve done for the past two years, this year we also have the opportunity to donate quilts to a women’s shelter in The Woodlands and to the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center on Holcombe Blvd in Houston.  

Wheel chair size is approx 36 x 46.  (over 36 is too long)

The women’s shelter is opening up several new apartments later this year. They need twin and full size quilts. Twin size is approx 65 x 85. Full size is approx 75 x 90.  As of right now they are only receiving quilts from our guild and the Conroe Guild so please consider joining with your friends to come up with some full size quilts for them.  If you want to make a lap size, don’t worry, we have a place for it.  Any size between the wheel chair & twin size will be donated to the women’s shelter also. 

New Community Service Challenge: Last year we donated 66 twin size quilts. (  Way to go!! )   At an average size of 65 x 85 that’s a total of 364,650 square inches.   That’s our number to beat!  If we make our goal again this year, there will another drawing, details to follow later.  Our deadline will again be the Camp for All retreat in early February 2010.
